The Bedi dental finger shield is simple and easy to use. Images show both small and large hands with finger shield on. Use on a finger where it is snug and comfortable.

The shield allows oral care to be carried out quickly and effectively for another person without risk of a finger being bitten. It helps to ‘prop’ the mouth open while toothbrushing.

How to Use

Slide onto finger and place shielded finger into one side of the mouth resting between upper and lower teeth. Standing behind or to the side, support head brush all surfaces of teeth around gum line – outside, inside and biting surface. Switch hands to brush the opposite side of the mouth.

We recommend using the toothbrush dry with a pea sized blob of fluoride toothpaste. Spread the toothpaste around all teeth then brush. If cleaning between teeth – do this BEFORE toothbrushing. Encourage the patient to spit out but don’t rinse all the toothpaste away after brushing. Let the active ingredients in the toothpaste work for as long as possible. e.g. fluoride.

How to Clean

Use one shield per person. Wash with soap and water after use.
